US Seeks to Justify Anti-DPRK War Exercises
Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- Walter Sharp, commander ofthe U.S. forces in south Korea, said in an interviewed with a U.S.military paper on February 23 that there may be a small local provocation by the DPRK without advance notice, according to south Korea's Yonhap News.

His remarks reflected the scheme of the U.S. which is clamoring about "additional provocation" by the DPRK only to find a pretext for justifying Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises.

On February 18 the commander-in-chief of the U.S. armed forces in the Pacific region claimed that there would be "additional provocation" the DPRK within several months and that the forthcoming joint military rehearsals are defensive ones to deter a war.

Earlier, the administrator of the U.S. State Intelligence Agency told at the House of Representatives that the DPRK may attempt "additional provocation".

The United States is now instigating the south Korean authorities to confrontation and war while planning to stage Key Resolve and Foal Eagle with involvement of huge armed forces including nuclear aircraft carrier.

The assertion of Walter Sharp cannot be construed otherwise than an attempt to justify the military exercises going against the trend of the times toward prevention of war on the Korean Peninsula and peace and stability.
