NDC Inspection Group's Statement (2) Reported in S. Korea

| Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- CBS of south Korea reported that the inspection group of the National Defence Commission (NDC) of the DPRK, in its Feb. 23 statement on revealing truth behind Yonphyong Island shelling, reclarified its stand that the shelling was to cope with the south side's shelling. In the statement the NDC inspection group stressed that it sent a telephone message to the south side at 8:00 on Nov. 23 last year, prompted by its hope to avert a military conflict and preserve peace, but the south side launched shelling first, the report said. |
