Kim Jong Il's Birthday Celebrated Abroad
Pyongyang, February 26 (KCNA) -- Events took place in different countries between Feb. 10 and 15 to mark the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

They included meetings, film shows and photo exhibitions in Nepal, Iran, Myanmar, Malaysia, South Africa and Ethiopia.

Displayed in the venues of the events were photos on the exploits of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and other photos showing the Korean people's drive to build a thriving socialist nation.

The participants of the film shows watched "Pyongyang Today", "Fireworks for a Thriving Nation" and "Reply of Korea" and other Korean films.

The director of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Nepal Worker-Peasant Party and other speakers said that the future of the Korean people is as rosy as the blue sky as they are led by Kim Jong Il.

They extended support and solidarity to the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people in their struggle to implement the tasks advanced in the joint New Year editorial.

The president of the International Taekwon-Do Association in Iran noted that the birth of Kim Jong Il was a fortune for the world progressives.

Kim Jong Il put forward the popular masses as a driving force of history and has performed miracles baffling human imagination by relying on their might, said the chairman of the Group for the Study of the Progressive Ideas of South Africa.
