Korean Book, Photo and Handicraft Exhibitions Open Abroad
Pyongyang, February 24 (KCNA) -- Korean book, photo and handicraft exhibitions opened at various institutions in Russia, Vietnam and Mexico between Feb. 11 and 16 to celebrate the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

They were the Far Eastern Art Museum in Khabarovsk, a museum and a company in Nakhodka and Moscow, Russia, Ho Chi Minh Museum in Vietnam and a cultural hall in Mexico.

Displayed at the exhibitions were works of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, photos on their immortal exploits and books, photos and handicrafts showing the true picture of Songun Korea.

Speeches were made at the opening ceremonies.

The vice-minister of Culture of the Government of the Khabarovsk Territory said that the exhibition opening to celebrate the birthday of Kim Jong Il is making a great contribution to further boosting the relations of cultural cooperation between the peoples of Russia and the DPRK.

The curator of Ho Chi Minh Museum noted that Vietnam and the DPRK have long-standing friendly relations provided and developed by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kim Il Sung.

He expressed belief that the exhibition would provide an important opportunity for developing the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between the two parties, governments and peoples onto a new phase.

The chief of a district office of the city of Mexico hoped that the Korean people would register greater success in their efforts to achieve the prosperity of the country, social progress and accomplish the socialist cause under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il in the future, too.
