US Strengthens Military Presence in Asia-Pacific Region
Pyongyang, February 23 (KCNA) -- The U.S. has frequently staged military exercises in the Asia-Pacific region.

The U.S. carried out large military maneuvers, codenamed Cobra Gold, in the southeast Asian region between February 7 and 18.

It has kept its 100,000-strong force, as well as more than a half of its aircraft carriers, nuclear submarines, warships and strategic bombers, deployed in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Chinese Xinhua News Agency said the U.S. is trying to make an impression that it has a military presence throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

It is the public view that its frequent military exercises in the region are a sign of a "new century of Asia-Pacific region" the U.S. Defense Department wants to usher in.

Some military experts are of the opinion that the U.S. has accelerated the process of switching its world military strategy to the region and that its military exercises are actually aimed at strengthening its military presence in the region and realizing its world supremacy strategy.
