Amino Acid Micronutrient Composite Fertilizer Developed
Pyongyang, February 23 (KCNA) -- The State Academy of Sciences of the DPRK developed amino acid micronutrient composite fertilizer.

This fertilizer was obtained through a chemical combination of dozens of micronutrient elements extracted from Kumgang medical stones found in abundance in the country and rare earth elements and protein obtained from feather of chicken and duck and other animals left unused.

The fertilizer can be used as seed disinfectant.

It helps promote the growth of plant roots and facilitate the activity of plant ferments and enrich the content of chlorophyll. It is efficacious for preventing various diseases including rice damping-off and blight.

The economic effectiveness of this fertilizer has been proved on many cooperative farms including those in South Phyongan Province, North Hwanghae Province and Pyongyang.

When this fertilizer was applied, the rate of germination of seed increased 7 percent on an average and the germination took place many days earlier than before.

The grain yield in the paddy and non-paddy fields to which the fertilizer was applied showed a 10-20 percent increase per hectare as compared with those to which the fertilizer was not applied.

The per hectare yield in the fields under vegetables went up 20-40 percent.
