During their visits to the DPRK, officials of the corporation admired him for his continued inspection of army units and field guidance over industrial establishments and agricultural farms.

They decided to present a gift to him on the occasion of his birthday, February 16, Juche 97 (2008).

The gift reflects their deep reverence for the DPRK leader.

It is a traditional custom of the Chinese people to express their sincerity with sculptures made of tree roots. The corporation's officials went to Yunnan Province, China and found out a golden camphor tree root believed to be more than 1 000 years old in a primeval forest.

The sculpture weighing 3.5 tons contains words of best wishes written with pure gold.
