Violence against Women Gets Worse in US
Pyongyang, February 22 (KCNA) -- Violence against women has become a serious problem in the United States.

The special rapporteur of the United Nations in charge of violence against women revealed the fact in a press conference on Feb. 7.

A survey found that violence against women in families and army was of various and extensive forms.

In particular, American aborigines, immigrants and African-Americans hold a majority of the victims.

Statistical figures released by the U.S. Department of Justice indicate that one out of three aborigines suffers sexual abuses and three out of five physical violence.

Sixty to eighty percent of violence against aborigines is done by nonaborigines.

No proper legislation has existed in the country to protect aborigines.

The rapporteur urged the U.S. to take responsible measures for preventing violence.
