Afghans Suffer from Drugs
Pyongyang, February 22 (KCNA) -- Many people in Afghanistan, known as a major drug producer, are suffering from drug addiction.

About a million people are addicted to drugs, 13 percent of them being children and 20 percent women.

An estimated 50,000 people take heroin, 150,000 narcotine, and 500,000 hashish. Of the addicts, 180,000 use drugs as pain-killer.

The drug abuse has caused the prevalence of crimes, lowering of productivity and deterioration of health among Afghans.
