Kim Jong Il's Birthday Celebrated Abroad
Pyongyang, February 22 (KCNA) -- Events took place in different countries between Feb.10 and 12 to celebrate the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

They included a meeting, lecture, photo exhibition and film show in Romania, Guinea, Norway and India.

Displayed at the venues of the events were works of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, photos on their immortal revolutionary exploits and books and photos on Songun Korea.

Korean films shown included "Fireworks for a Thriving Nation", "Party Founding Memorial Tower".

The chairman of the Supreme Council of the Socialist Party of Romania said at a meeting that Kim Jong Il enjoys boundless respect and admiration from the world people for his great exploits for the Korean revolution and global independence.

The director general of the Kim Il Sung Institute of Agricultural Science in Guinea said in a lecture that every day spent by Kim Jong Il on the field guidance for the people's happiness and the country's prosperity serves as a main factor and source which encourages all the people to the great surge and leap forward to bring about world-startling events in the DPRK.

The chairman of the Ostfold County Committee of the Communist Party of Norway at a film show praised Kim Jong Il for having wisely led the Korean people in their struggle to defend socialism and build a thriving nation with his unique Songun politics despite the imperialist allied forces' moves to stifle the DPRK.
