Coal Production Goes Up
Pyongyang, February 21 (KCNA) -- The coal mines across the country are reporting signal successes in the production of coal.

According to data available, thousands of more tons of coal have been produced on a daily average in February than that in January.

The Anju Area Coal Complex is overfulfilling its daily plans for coal production and pit tunneling on indices, while pushing forward the projects for the expansion of production capacities at the Hwaphung, Ryongrim and Ripsok coal mines.

The February 8 Jiktong Youth Coal Mine, Chonsong Youth Coal Mine, Jenam Coal Mine and the Ryongdung Coal Mine, the nation's leading coal producers, keep the coal production going at a high rate to supply more coal to thermal-power plants, metal and chemical factories and light industrial establishments.

Similar successes in the coal production were reported from the coal mines in the western region of the country and those in Kyongwon and Onsong areas, the area of South Hamgyong Province, and Myongchon and Chonnae areas.

In the meantime, the coal mining machine plants in different parts of the country are supplying a lot of parts of equipment and tools to coal mines.
