Anti-"Government" Action Called for in S. Korea
Pyongyang, February 21 (KCNA) -- The Joint Conference of Political Parties and Civic and Social Organizations of south Korea at a press conference on Feb. 17 declared to take action against the "government".

A press release said that after its emergence the present regime has negated understanding with the people and deteriorated the people's living through misrule ridden by arrogance and self-righteousness.

The organization accused the regime of driving the economy to bankruptcy and letting violent organs and conservative media gag the people voicing democracy.

The regime sold off people's interests to foreign forces through sycophantic diplomacy and pushed the south-north relations to the worst phase through the policy of confrontation with fellow countrymen, the organization deplored. The danger of war mounted on this land due to the treacherous act of the regime, it added.

The regime speaking for the interests of a handful of big businesses and conservative forces only cannot last long, it said. The people no longer count on the regime and the "Grand National Party," it added.

It said it would organize big action of opposition parties and civic and social organizations in Seoul on Feb. 25 to show the people's anger at the regime.
