US Seeks Triangular Military Alliance
Pyongyang, February 20 (KCNA) -- The United States, in its national military strategy for 2011, seeks a triangular military alliance involving Japan and south Korea.

The U.S. will maintain a strong military presence in northeast Asia for decades, the strategy report said.

"We will continue to work with Japan and south Korea to help improve security ties between them, enhance military cooperation and preserve regional stability", the report noted. "We will work with the Japan Self-Defense Forces to improve their out-of-area operational capabilities as the nation adjusts its defense posture. We will retain operational control over combined forces on the Korean peninsula through 2015 and provide assistance to south Korea as it expands its security responsibilities."

The U.S. is prepared to commit the resources needed to oppose any nation's actions that threaten the security of its allies, the report added.

In a nutshell, the latest strategy reveals the U.S. administration's intention to legalize the formation of the triangular military alliance and keep its military presence long in northeast Asia.
