Bead Embroidery "Birthplace in Paektusan Secret Camp"
Pyongyang, February 20 (KCNA) -- A bead embroidery "Birthplace in Paektusan Secret Camp" is a gift a south Korean woman sent to General Secretary Kim Jong Il with deep reverence for him.

It took seven years for her to gather nearly 100,000 beads and design the gift. Though she was neither an embroiderer nor an experienced hand at craftwork, she trimmed the beads and strung them in different colors and shapes to portray Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan secret camp.

The gift mirrors south Korean people's belief that under the leadership of Kim Jong Il, the DPRK socialist society centered on the masses demonstrates its might and the dignity, honor and pride of the Korean nation and a bright future of the country's reunification are guaranteed.

Letters "Jong Il Peak" are seen in the upper part of the peak behind his native home. The letters, decorated with gilded beads, symbolize his deep love for all the Korean people, while the dense forest around the peak represents the whole nation following his Songun (military-first) politics. Two bouquets reflect south Korean people's will to celebrate his birthday every year.

The gift also shows their ardent desire to live a happy life in the reunified country, holding Kim Jong Il in high esteem as the sun of the nation.
