Paektusan Prize Int'l Figure-skating Festival Closes
Pyongyang, February 17 (KCNA) -- The 20th Paektusan Prize International Figure-skating Festival was closed with due ceremony at the Ice Rink here on Feb. 17. The festival opened on Feb. 15 on the occasion of the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

Present there were Kim Ki Nam, Yang Hyong Sop, Kang Sok Ju, Choe Ryong Hae, Vice-Premier Kang Nung Su, Chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee Ryang Man Gil and officials concerned and sportspersons, citizens and overseas compatriots.

Festival prizes were awarded to figure skaters of Russia, France, the Czech Republic and the DPRK who displayed high skills.

Pak Myong Chol, minister of Physical Culture and Sports, in his closing address expressed belief that the figure skaters from different countries would significantly adorn the festival conducive to the auspicious February holiday in the future, too.

At the end of the ceremony there was a demonstration performance of figure skaters of different countries and the DPRK.
