Kim Jong Il's Birthday Marked in Japan
Pyongyang, February 17 (KCNA) -- A photo exhibition was sponsored by the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) in Tokyo on Feb. 15 in celebration of the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

Visitors saw in the front of the exhibition venue the picture showing Kim Jong Il at the platform of the military parade celebrating the 65th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea warmly waving back to the enthusiastically cheering crowd.

Exhibited photos included pictures on immortal leadership exploits of Kim Jong Il and his noble popular traits and paternal love for the Koreans in Japan.

There were also photos showing the Taegyedo Tideland, the Taedonggang Combined Fruit Farm and other events of radical changes taking place in the DPRK.

Among the visitors were Ho Jong Man, chief vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon, and its vice-chairmen, deputies to the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, advisors and members of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, a permanent advisor to the Research Institute on History of Korean Residents in Japan, officials of leading organizations and businesses of Chongryon, officials of the Kanto Headquarters of Chongryon and youth and students and other Korean residents in Japan.
