S. Korea Urged to Drop Confrontation Policy
Pyongyang, February 14 (KCNA) -- The south Korean authorities' policy for confrontation with the DPRK is the main cause of blocking the north-south dialogue and fostering the distrust and tensions between Koreans, says Rodong Sinmun Monday in a bylined article.

It is attributable to south Korea's policy for confrontation with the DPRK that no progress was made in the recent preliminary talks for opening the north-south high-level military talks, says the article.

It says that south Korea kicked up frantic confrontational racket against the DPRK when the talks to discuss the important issue of the nation were just a few days off.

Earlier stop to the confrontational policy in south Korea is essential for the improved north-south relations, desire of all the fellow countrymen and wish of the times, the paper says, and goes on:

The south Korean authorities should abandon the confrontational stand and take the stand of reconciliation, unity and reunification if they want to see the north-south ties warmed up.

It is impossible to repair the north-south relations if they persist in the war racket against the fellow countrymen in the DPRK, escalating the tensions, cutting the visits and contacts between the pro-reunification champions and pursuing the confrontation.

Confrontation with fellow countrymen is a mode of existence of the traitors to the nation.

No one has the right to act contrary to the improvement of the north-south relations, a pressing issue of the times.

The desire of the fellow countrymen and the wish of the times can never be a plaything of the traitors.
