Rodong Sinmun Calls for Boosting South-South Cooperation
Pyongyang, February 13 (KCNA) -- If the developing countries are to achieve independent development and economic prosperity in the new century, they should boost the South-South cooperation, observes Rodong Sinmun Sunday in a by-lined article.

It goes on:

The developing countries' development of the South-South cooperation is the course of putting an end to the relations of inequality with the Western countries and establishing instead a new fair international economic order in the new century.

The above-said cooperation among the developing countries serves as an important way for raising their political position and role in the international arena. Only when they achieve economic self-support through collective self-reliance can they consolidate the political independence already won and defend their sovereignty.

To achieve economic self-support by developing the said cooperation provides important conditions for increasing the self-reliant defence capability and building national power strong enough to cope with foreign interference.

Many developing countries are making positive efforts to boost the cooperation among them, aware of the importance of South-South cooperation and its practical significance.

They are called upon to push forward the above-said cooperation, regarding it as their consistent foreign policies to boost it, and give precedence to the process of putting the cooperation on an institutional basis to raise its effectiveness.

No force on earth can arrest the just struggle of the people of the developing countries to boost the cooperation.
