Meeting Held in Mt. Paektu
Pyongyang, February 12 (KCNA) -- A meeting to vow loyalty took place in front of the secret camp in Mt. Paektu on Saturday on the occasion of the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

Attending the meeting were Kim Yong Chun, Ju Sang Song, Kim Jong Gak, Choe Ryong Hae and Kim Phyong Hae, leading officials of the Party, armed forces, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, service personnel of the KPA and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces and people from all walks of life.

Speeches were made there.

Choe Ryong Hae, alternate member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the C.C., the WPK, said that the army and people of the DPRK could make a steady advance to accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche, blessed with the illustrious leaders, under the leadership of Kim Jong Il who was born in Mt. Paektu.

General of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Gak, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the WPK and first vice-director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA, underlined the need for the KPA to successfully carry forward the noble tradition in which it devotedly defended the WPK and the leader with arms, holding aloft the slogan "Let us defend with our very lives the Party Central Committee headed by the great Comrade Kim Jong Il!" as the signpost of conviction and banner of life and struggle.

Ri Yong Chol, first secretary of the C.C., the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, stressed the need for all the young people to become Songun revolutionary fighters who remain true to the leadership of the WPK, cherishing the fixed faith that it is possible to achieve the prosperity of Kim Il Sung's nation and carve out a rosy future of Songun Korea when they deeply trust and follow Kim Jong Il only.

Fireworks celebrating the February holiday were displayed in the sky above the secret camp and the participants' loud shouts of "hurrah!" resounded through the mountain.
