Ice Sculpture Festival Held
Pyongyang, February 12 (KCNA) -- An ice sculpture festival started in Samjiyon County at the foot of Mt. Paektu in northern part of the DPRK on Friday in celebration of the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

Hundreds of ice sculptures of 42 shapes are on display around the county cultural hall and the shore of Lake Samji. They were created by members of the Ministry of People's Security group under the 618 Construction Shock Brigade and inhabitants in the county.

Among them are shapes of floral basket, celebrating lantern, large vase, iron falls which show the achievement made in the production of Juche iron, the dam of the Huichon Power Station.

They also include a tiger of Mt. Paektu and char in globe.
