Kim Jong Il Praised by Foreign Media
Pyongyang, February 12 (KCNA) -- Foreign newspapers and broadcasting services carried special write-ups or aired special programs on Feb. 1 and 2 on the occasion of the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

The newspaper La Prosperite of Democratic Congo carried a photo of him standing on the tribune of honor of the military parade celebrating the 65th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea. It carried the headline "The DPRK celebrates birthday of leader Kim Jong Il revered by the people" under which several articles were edited.

The articles said that the Korean people are celebrating February 16 every year as the greatest holiday of the nation, a clear proof of how deeply he is revered by the people.

The Cambodian newspaper Pracheachon carried a photograph of him acknowledging the cheers of the masses and an article titled "Leader Kim Jong Il and his birthday."

The Apsara TV and Radio Broadcasting of Cambodia gave a detailed account of the facts that he has considered the people as a teacher and most almighty being.

The Nigerian newspaper New Nigerian carried an article praising him for devoting even his birthday to the prosperity of the country and the happiness of the people.

On Feb. 5 and 6 the news agencies of Cambodia and Laos released commemorative reports and their broadcasting services aired special programs on the occasion.
