Schoolchildren from across Country Make Study Tour
Pyongyang, February 9 (KCNA) -- Schoolchildren from across the country made a study tour of the secret camp in Mt. Paektu where there is the birthplace of General Secretary Kim Jong Il from Feb. 2 to 8.

During their tour they laid floral baskets and flowers before the statues of President Kim Il Sung in the revolutionary battle site in Pochonbo, on the shore of Lake Samji, in the Chongbong Bivouac and the mosaic portraying the three commanders of Mt. Paektu in the Mt. Paektu secret camp before paying tribute to them.

They looked round the command post where the President led the Pochonbo battle to victory, the then police substation and subcounty office of the Japanese imperialists and other places.

During their study tour they had a meeting to hear impressions of anti-Japanese guerrillas' reminiscences read by them and contests of marchers in singing revolutionary songs, published flash news of their march and quiz, etc.

They visited Kim Jong Il's birthplace on Feb. 6.

Being briefed on the fact that Kim Jong Il was born in a simple log cabin and grew up to be a great revolutionary, they looked round the historic relics preserved there with good care.

They visited several places in Samjiyon Township including the Paektu Museum and the Samjiyon Schoolchildren's Palace.
