All Politicians Should Fulfill Responsibility and Role for Nation
Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- The politicians in the north and the south should serve the nation before seeking the interests of class, social standings and political factions, Rodong Sinmun Monday says in a bylined article.

No problem will be insoluble between the north and the south if the politicians buckle down to the work from the stand of giving priority to the nation in the spirit of "by our nation itself" to realize the nation's wish for reunification and interests, the article says, and goes on:

The politicians in the south should give top priority to the nation and subjugate the interests, policy and ism of individual political group to the great cause of the nation. They should also take the lead in the grand march of the nation for reconciliation, unity, peace and reunification.

An urgent task facing the politicians in the north and the south at present is to hold contact and dialogues. The north-south high-ranking military talks are due to open soon and civilians of different circles are becoming increasingly vocal for dialogue. It is quite unreasonable for the politicians to remain indifferent to this situation.

They should seek active bilateral and multilateral negotiations to fulfill their historical mission and duty before the times and the nation.

There is no obstacle in the way of contacts and dialogues between them. More contacts and dialogues would help deepen understanding and confidence, contributing to the improved north-south relations.

Whoever is a politician valuing the nation should orientate his or her thinking and activities to tiding over the present ordeals and reunifying the country. All the Koreans hope that the politicians in the north and the south would take the lead in the patriotic drive for reunification for the destiny and common interests of the nation.
