DPRK-Russia Diplomats Exchange Views
Pyongyang, February 2 (KCNA) -- The minister councilor of the DPRK embassy in Moscow and the vice-director of the First Asian Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry met in Moscow on Feb. 1 and exchanged views on the situation on the Korean Peninsula and the issue of resuming the six-party talks.

The DPRK side re-clarified its invariable stand and will to realize the denuclearization of the whole Korean Peninsula and fully implement the September 19 Joint statement in the spirit of equality and on the principle of simultaneous action.

The Russian side recognized the DPRK's right to nuclear activities for peaceful purposes and confirmed that the reports of some media that Russia is not opposed to the discussion on the issue of the DPRK's production of enriched uranium at the UNSC are not the official stand of Russia.

Both sides decided to closely cooperate with each other in the future, too, to ease the situation on the peninsula and resume the six-party talks.
