Events Held Abroad to Mark Kim Jong Il's Birthday
Pyongyang, January 31 (KCNA) -- Events took place in different countries on Jan. 21 and 24 on the occasion of the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

There were a meeting and film show in Dominica and a film show in Ukraine.

Korean films shown included "Fireworks for a Thriving Nation" and "Reply of Korea".

Ramon Almanzar, president of the Revolutionary Alternative Party of Dominica, noted that the DPRK has exercised in a dignified manner its sovereignty in international arena and wrought miracles in building an economic power. This is the results of the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea headed by Kim Jong Il, he said.

The WPK led by him will always win victory after victory, the chairman stressed.

Ivan Rodriguez, general secretary of the Revolutionary Alternative Party of Dominica, said that reverence for Kim Jong Il is growing deeper with each passing day. Despite the vicious obstructive moves of the U.S.-led imperialist reactionaries, the DPRK have made admirable achievements one after another that startle the world and give confidence to us, he noted, adding: The secret of those successes lies in Kim Jong Il's mysterious politics.

A vice-rector of Poltava City University of Agriculture in Ukraine said that the DPRK is confidently advancing toward the eminence of a thriving nation thanks to its original political philosophy, power serving the people and invincible army provided under the distinguished leadership of Kim Jong Il.

A message of greetings to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the meeting in Dominica.
