Korea Elderly Care Fund Established
Pyongyang, January 25 (KCNA) -- The Korea Elderly Care Fund (KECF) was newly established in the DPRK. It is a non-profit, non-governmental organization registered as its legal body in the DPRK with a mission of giving cooperation and support to the old people so that they may live a healthy and worthwhile life.

It will be operated by the funds created by the institution for protecting the aged and those donated by international organizations, charity organizations and overseas compatriots and others.

The funds will be used for repairing and renovating comprehensive service facilities for the aged and old people's homes and building welfare facilities for them.

They will be also used for producing and distributing various kinds of publications necessary for the management and protection of the old people's health, setting up apparatuses for their physical training and rehabilitation and producing tonic, etc.

A national computer network will be established in different parts of the country to care for the old people.

Ri Chol Hui, vice-chairperson of the Central Committee of the Korean Federation of Protecting Aged Persons, 63, noted that KECF would reenergize the exchange and cooperation with different countries and international organizations.
