Signal Successes Reported from Sector of Light Industry
Pyongyang, January 21 (KCNA) -- All efforts are being focused on the development of light industry in the DPRK.

The whole society and nation are increasingly concerned for the development of light industry. Officials of the Ministry of Light Industry are busy helping operations at the factories under it alive with the drive for increased production.

Energetic endeavors are being made by chemical, metal and agricultural sectors to boost the production and supply of raw and other materials required by light industry including synthetic fiber, plastics, essential chemical products, iron and steel, second-stage metal, nonferrous metal products and animal and vegetable raw materials.

News of the overfulfilment of daily assignments is reported from light industrial factories including the Pyongyang Flour-processing Factory, the Pyongyang Textile Mill and the Pyongyang Daily Necessities Factory.

Local industrial factories in various parts of the country are keeping production going at a high rate by relying on raw materials found in abundance in their areas and using renewable raw materials and resources.

A work is making brisk headway across the country to consolidate the natural raw material bases and bases for cultivating crops to be used as raw materials and tap leftovers, by-products and idle materials from factories and enterprises.

Scientific research institutions are busy introducing to production valuable successes made in the researches into the improvement of the standard of people's living. The textile research institute succeeded in establishing a Korean-style tetron spun rayon fabric production process.
