Worldwide Solidarity with Korean People Called for

Pyongyang, January 21 (KCNA) -- Political parties and organizations of Democratic Congo in their joint statement on Jan. 13 called upon the progressives, political parties and organizations the world over to support the joint statement made by the government, political parties and organizations of the DPRK. They also called for extending firm solidarity to the Korean people in their struggle for peace and reunification. They included the Genuine Lumumbist Patriotic Party, the People's Rally for Socialism, the Working Citizens' Association, the National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea of Democratic Congo and the Democratic Congo-DPRK Association for Friendship and Solidarity.

The DPRK's proposal for dialogue and negotiations is the timely, fair and broad-minded one, they said, expressing full support and sympathy with it.

The south Korean authorities, political parties and organizations should immediately respond to the proposal, they urged.

They demanded that the U.S. do things helpful to creating atmosphere favorable for peace and reunification, not instigating the south Korean authorities to escalate the tension on the Korean Peninsula.
