S. Korea Urged to Respond to DPRK's Proposal
Pyongyang, January 14 (KCNA) -- Overseas Koreans' organizations urged the authorities, political parties and organizations of south Korea to positively respond to the fair proposal of the DPRK.

The U.S. Regional Committee of the Overseas Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration in a statement on Jan. 8 said that the south Korean present "government" has refused to accept the DPRK's proposal for dialogue, talking about "sincerity" while building up improper opinions.

There are good precedents in which the north and the south settled issues through dialogue and negotiations and the admirable principles and declarations adopted between them, it noted.

The United Confederation of Koreans in Ukraine in its statement on Jan. 9 said: The north-south relations are now on the verge of collapse and shells were exchanged between them. This tragic situation is attributable to the foreign forces' war moves and the south Korean authorities' policy of sycophancy toward the U.S. and confrontation with their fellow countrymen.

To realize reconciliation, cooperation, peace and reunification is what all Koreans in the north and the south and abroad should do together, it stressed.

The Confederation declared that overseas Koreans would work hard to open a decisive phase for peace on the Korean Peninsula and its reunification.
