Early Opening of North-South Dialogue Called for
Pyongyang, January 13 (KCNA) -- Organizations of overseas compatriots and personages in their statements are calling for an early start of the north-south dialogue.

The Overseas Side Committee for Implementing June 15 Joint Declaration noted in a statement on Jan. 8 that in order to wipe out misunderstanding and mistrust and improve the north-south relations both sides should meet to have candid dialogue and negotiations.

A spokesperson for the Federation of Koreans in the U.S. said in a statement on Jan. 7 that the dialogue between the north and the south should be one bringing hope to the Korean nation, urging the south "government" to positively respond to the proposal of the DPRK.

The European Regional Committee of the Overseas Side Committee for Implementing June 15 Joint Declaration said in a statement on Jan. 8 that in order to achieve peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula it is necessary for fellow countrymen to sit at a negotiating table to open-heartedly clarify their stands and seek solutions to issues.

Cha Sang Bo, vice-chairman of the General Association of Koreans in China, said in a statement on Jan. 6 that those who swim with the trend of national cooperation are patriots while those who go against it are traitors to the nation.
