Ulmil Pavilion
Pyongyang, January 12 (KCNA) -- Ulmil Pavilion is standing on Moran hill in Pyongyang.

The pavilion is on an embankment erected almost vertically with well-trimmed stones.

It, dating back to the period of Koguryo, was built in the mid-sixth century as a northern commanding post of the wall around Pyongyang. It was rebuilt in 1714.

The 11-meter-high embankment has battlements on its top.

The pavilion has a hip-saddle roof and double eaves.

From the pavilion, one can get a view of surrounding scenes.

From long time ago, the landscape around the pavilion has been called one of the eight scenic views in Pyongyang.

The pavilion is marked with the Korean people's struggle against invasion. Pyongyang people fought there against Japanese invaders in period of the Imjin Patriotic War (1592-1598).

The pavilion is one of the places frequented by holidaymakers in Pyongyang.
