Japan's Preparations for Reinvasion under Fire
Pyongyang, January 12 (KCNA) -- The Japan "Self-Defense Forces" are contemplating staging a joint command post exercise with the U.S. forces under the signboard of "joint defense of their southern border" from January 20 to February 3, according to a foreign press report.

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday observes in a bylined commentary in this regard:

The above-said drill planned by Japan from the outset of the year in the wake of the ceaseless joint military exercises conducted by it with the U.S. warlike forces last year is aimed at finally examining and rounding off its preparations for reinvasion and putting its scenario into practice.

The commentary goes on:

Japan has long stepped up its moves for its conversion into a military power, getting ready to launch overseas aggression. It is now set to achieve its sinister goal by tightening the nexus with the U.S. for aggression under the signboard of a "joint defense".

By staging joint military exercises with the U.S. Japan seeks to strain the situation and launch reinvasion, taking advantage of it. Pursuant to this scenario, Japan is deploying its mobile strike forces made up mainly of its naval and air SDF in the southwestern region of Japan close to the Korean Peninsula and China.

The Japanese reactionaries may kick off overseas aggression anytime. The DPRK is made its primary target. They are kicking up a frantic military racket against the DPRK in pursuance of their scenario for staging a comeback to Korea. The projected joint exercise can be interpreted as part of that scenario.

The Japanese militarists' adventurous moves for reinvasion are rendering the situation in Northeast Asia tenser and increasing the danger of war as the days go by.

The Japanese reactionaries are making desperate efforts to realize their wild ambition for overseas aggression by accelerating the conversion of Japan into a military giant but this will get them nowhere. Their reinvasion will only lead to their self-destruction.
