Earliest End to Moves to Escalate Confrontation with DPRK Urged
Pyongyang, January 3 (KCNA) -- If the Korean nation is to pave the way for reunification and prosperity at an early date, it is necessary to put an immediate end to the dangerous moves of the south Korean authorities for confrontation and war going against the trend of the times, said Rodong Sinmun Monday in a by-lined article.

Their moves to ignite a war against the DPRK are a basic factor of bedeviling the inter-Korean relations and threatening peace on the Korean Peninsula, the article noted, and went on:

The dynamic advance of the fellow countrymen for the victory of the cause of independent reunification is facing a big challenge due to the south Korean conservative authorities' anti-reunification policy for confrontation.

This policy caused a cool atmosphere of confrontation to prevail between the north and the south.

This grim reality calls for putting an end to the above-said policy of the south Korean conservative authorities as they derailed the dialogue and cooperation between compatriots in denial of the inter-Korean declarations.

The improvement of the inter-Korean relations and the security of the nation and its peaceful reunification are unthinkable as long as they persist in their dangerous moves for a war against the DPRK.

If peace is to be ensured on the peninsula, it is imperative to put an end to their reckless moves for confrontation and war, first of all. This is the most urgent task both in the light of the demand of the times and the requirement of the prevailing situation.
