DPRK Anniversaries Observed Abroad
Pyongyang, January 3 (KCNA) -- Events took place abroad to mark the 19th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il as supreme commander of the Korean People's Army and the 93rd birth anniversary of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk.

They included seminars held by the International Alliance of Societies for the Study of the Juche Idea and Songun Policy in East European and Central Asian Regions and in Bulgaria, a film show that took place in India and round-table talks in Indonesia on December 24 and 28 last year.

Films shown included "Arms of Korea".

The defence industry of the DPRK has turned into a modern and self-supporting one, the modernization of weaponry and equipment of the whole army has been realized at a high level and an all-people and nationwide defense system rounded off under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il, said the general secretary of the international alliance.

The chief of the Bulgarian Group for the Study of the Juche Idea referred to the revolutionary career of Kim Jong Suk in detail, adding that it is her greatest exploit that she provided steady continuity to the Korean revolution.

The Korean People's Army has grown strong to be an invincible army as it held Kim Jong Il in high esteem as its supreme commander, said the director of the Indian Institute for Foreign Policy Studies, stressing the army of the DPRK would always emerge victorious.
