Rodong Sinmun Flails S. Korea's Anti-DPRK Moves
Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- The reckless anti-DPRK moves of the south Korean puppet group are the worst treachery against the nation, says Rodong Sinmun, a major newspaper of the DPRK, in a bylined article Friday.

Flunkeyism and confrontation with their fellow countrymen are the peculiar physiology and inveterate bad habit of the present south Korean conservative ruling forces, the article says, and goes on:

The group of conservatives in south Korea pursues antagonism, confrontation and war between the north and the south, not reconciliation and unity.

Its true colors has been disclosed clearly this year when it insisted on the already failed "policy towards the north", disregarding the demand of people at home and abroad for improved north-south relations.

Furthermore, the puppet bellicose forces produced the conspiratorial warship sinking case this March, escalating mistrust and confrontation between the north and the south. As the truth about the case came to light, they intentionally made the Yonphyong Island shelling incident, another provocation to the DPRK, in November.

Such action brought halt to the dialogue and cooperation between the north and the south which had been barely maintained. And it drove the situation of the Korean Peninsula to the brink of war again.

It is as clear as noonday that the conservative forces, in trouble due to the bankruptcy of the "policy towards the north" and the consequent serious ruling crisis, seek a way out in aggravating the tension and igniting a war in the Korean Peninsula.

If the worsened north-south relations are to be improved at an early date and the Korean nation is to achieve the independent reunification, peace and prosperity, south Korea should halt the anachronistic moves for confrontation with the DPRK.
