Relics of Kiln Site Dating Back to Koryo Dynasty Unearthed
Pyongyang, December 21 (KCNA) -- Relics of kiln site dating back to Koryo dynasty were unearthed in the Kotho area of Koup-ri, Jangphung County of Kaesong City in the DPRK recently.

Lying at an incline of about 10 degrees, the site is 60 meters long, 2 meters wide and 1 to 1.5 meters high.

The rectangular fire box in the lower part of the site is 1.9 meters long, 1.8 meters wide and the brick layers are about 30 to 50 centimeters high.

There remains just one layer of bricks on both sides of the kiln at present.

The unearthing led to discovering pieces of ceramic plates, Koryo porcelain and others used for manufacturing pottery.

The location of the kiln site, its shape and structure and relics obtained from there ascertained that they dated back to the early period of Koryo dynasty.
