Rodong Sinmun Denounces US-S. Korea War Confab
Pyongyang, December 21 (KCNA) -- The U.S. and the south Korean military warhawks held the 27th "meeting on security policy initiative" in Seoul some days ago, says major newspaper Rodong Sinmun.

At the meeting the two sides had a dangerous confab on boosting cooperation in a war against the DPRK and bringing a nuclear disaster to Korea by taking advantage of the situation on the Korean Peninsula, the commentary said.

"The south Korean conservative government is blaming the DPRK for 'provocation' to convince the world that it is a victim, but it is just a smokescreen to cover up its scenario for confrontation and a war," it added.

The news analyst said that south Korea is being driven to a tight corner, censured by the people and its anti-reunification policy is on the verge of total bankruptcy.

"It is finding a way out in confrontation with fellow countrymen and working as a stooge for trigger-happy outsiders. It is proved by south Korean warhawks' military provocation from Yonphyong Island and their stepped-up moves to tighten the 'triangular military alliance' with the U.S. and Japan," the news analyst noted, and continued:

"What should not be overlooked is that what was discussed at the war confab is being put into practice. South Korean forces staged another shelling from the island and invited riff-raffs to take part as 'observers.' This was obviously aimed to ignite a war against the DPRK under the pretext of 'provocation'," the news analyst held.

"Should the south Korean authorities persistently pursue confrontation with fellow countrymen despite the DPRK's repeated demand and the trend of the times, they will have to pay a dear price," he warned.
