Korean Exhibition Opened in South Africa
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- A Korean book, photo and handicraft exhibition was opened in Pretoria on Dec. 15 as part of the events of the 17th World Festival of Youth and Students going on in South Africa.

The exhibits included works of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il, photos of the leader inspecting units of the Korean People's Army, giving field guidance to various domains of the national economy and giving torchlight of the revolution to the young Koreans, picture albums and handicrafts.

Present at the opening exhibition were youth and student delegations from the DPRK and other countries and representatives of international and regional organizations.

Congratulatory speeches were made there by the president of the World Federation of Democratic Youth who is coordinator of the international organizing committee of the festival and a co-chairman of the South African national preparatory committee for the festival.

The participants looked round the exhibition hall and enjoyed an art performance given by the DPRK delegation of youth and students.

On Dec. 15 and 16 the DPRK delegation took part in meetings and seminars on such themes as "Struggle for peace, sovereignty and solidarity against imperialism", "Struggle of youth in the fields of education, science, culture and information" and "Struggle for peace, role of youth" and a solidarity event for South Africa's day.

At the meetings and seminars representatives of youth and students from different countries expressed boundless reverence for Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and called for strengthened support and solidarity with the cause of the Korean revolution.
