Tuition-waiver Program to Korean Schools Demanded in Japan
Pyongyang, December 14 (KCNA) -- People of various circles in Japan are becoming increasingly vocal protesting against the Japanese government's suspension of the procedures for the application of the tuition-waiver program to the Korean schools as regards the situation prevailing on the Korean Peninsula.

The Liaison Council against the Exclusion of Korean Schools from the Application of the Tuition-waiver Program for Senior High Schools sent written requests for the application of the above-said program to the prime minister and the minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.

The Society for Assisting Korean Schools in Fukuoka Prefecture and the Free Legal Panel, an organization of lawyers, in their statements urged the authorities not to deliberately mix politics with the education issue.

The "Liaison Council Demanding Denuclearization and Peace in Northeast Asia and Normalization of Relations between Japan and the DPRK" in a statement called for providing all children with the right to learn and right to national education.

The written requests and statements censured in unison the exclusion of only the Korean schools from the application of the above-said program, declaring that this is little short of the Japanese government's agitation of the national discrimination.
