S. Korea's Moves to Escalate Military Confrontation under Fire
Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- At least 30 women's organizations of south Korea such as the Federation of Women's Organizations and the Women's Society for Achieving Peace at a press conference in Seoul on Dec. 9 denounced the puppet authorities for their moves to escalate the military confrontation increasing the tension on the Korean Peninsula.

At the conference they accused the authorities of staging again a shelling drill, increasing the danger of war in the wake of the largest-ever combine maneuvers in the West Sea with the U.S. following the Yonphyong Island shelling incident.

The situation on the Korean Peninsula is being strained to an extreme pitch of tension but the authorities are working hard to massively beef up their armed forces in waters of the West Sea of Korea and increase military spending, they noted, and continued:

What the women desire is not war but peace. The authorities should stop their reckless moves to escalate the military confrontation and opt for dialogue with the DPRK.

They stressed that the women will continue to stage the actions for achieving peace on the peninsula against the moves of the authorities to ignite a war.
