Story of Kim Il Sung
Pyongyang, December 7 (KCNA) -- In early November Juche 22 (1933) fierce battles were going on to defend the Xiaowangqing guerrilla base from Japanese troops' attack.

They, availing themselves of their upperhand in strength and weapons, persisted in attacking the base though they suffered repeated defeats.

Such being the situation, a new tactics was needed to protect the base and its people.

President Kim Il Sung put forward a tactical proposal of stubbornly resisting the attack and, at the same time, striking the enemies in the rear and foiling their attempt to stifle the base with blockade and protracted battles.

He said if the enemies' positions and strongholds were attacked, the news would be circulated and they would withdraw from the battlefield to protect their rear.

The President divided the guerrillas into two groups to keep one group defending the base and lead another group to advance into the enemies' rear after breaking through their siege. As he expected, the enemy rear was empty.

With their rear attacked by the guerrillas, the Japanese troops could not but loose their siege and withdraw from the battlefield.
