Quick Reading Contest Held
Pyongyang, December 3 (KCNA) -- The 2nd National Quick Reading Contest was held in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

The contest, held divided into two events -- book reading and memory, drew nearly a hundred secondary school students.

Ra Chong Rim from Wonsan Secondary School No. 1 and Choe Yang from Sinuiju Foreign Languages School won the top place in book reading.

Yun Jong Hwa from Kang Pan Sok Revolutionary School and Kim Hyon Sim from Sariwon Foreign Languages School secured the first place in memory by passing 70 percent mark in understanding.

Kang Pan Sok Revolutionary School and Sinuiju and Chongjin Foreign Languages Schools took the lead in team standings.

Kim Jong Sun, a researcher of Pyongyang Secondary School No. 1 and a judge of the contest, told KCNA that the quick reading and memory skill of the participants in the second contest was much higher than that of the participants in the first contest.
