Lao's 35th Founding Day, Kaysone's 90th Birthday Observed
Pyongyang, November 30 (KCNA) -- A meeting and film show were held at the Taedonggang Diplomatic Corps Club on Tuesday on the occasions of the 35th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the 90th birthday of President Kaysone Phomvihane.

Present at the meeting on invitation were Chaleune Warinthrasak, Lao ambassador to the DPRK, and staff members of his embassy.

Also present there were Ryang Man Gil, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee who doubles as chairman of the DPRK-Laos Friendship Association, officials concerned and working people in the city.

Ryang Man Gil said in his speech that the friendly relations between the two countries provided by President Kim Il Sung together with Kaysone Phomvihane are favorably developing under the deep care of General Secretary Kim Jong Il and Choummaly Saynasone.

Referring to the fact that the DPRK and Laos closely cooperated with each other in the struggle to build socialism against imperialism, he stressed that the DPRK would as ever make positive efforts to boost the friendly relations provided by the leaders of the two countries.

Chaleune Warinthrasak in a speech extended deep thanks to Kim Jong Il for having extended support, material and moral, to Laos.

He expressed his hope that the Korean people firmly rallied around Kim Jong Il would achieve great success in their building of a great prosperous and powerful socialist nation.

At the end of the meeting, the participants watched Korean documentary film "President Kim Il Sung Meets Foreign Heads of State and Prominent Figures" Part 7.
