Halt to Combined War Exercises Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, November 30 (KCNA) -- The Media Headquarters, the Academic Headquarters and the Youth and Students Headquarters of the South Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration released a joint statement on Nov. 27 demanding the U.S. and the south Korean puppet war-like forces stop their combined war exercises.

The statement said that the military tension is being further screwed up on the Korean Peninsula owing to the south Korea-U.S. combined war exercises in the West Sea of Korea with even the U.S. nuclear carrier George Washington involved.

If an all-out war breaks out due to the escalated military confrontation, it will be the Korean nation which will suffer from it, the statement noted.

It is a dangerous act that the U.S. and the south Korean authorities are staging the war exercises by mobilizing the nuclear carrier at a time when the danger of war is mounting on the Korean Peninsula, it said, urging them to stop the combined exercises aimed at invading the DPRK.

The South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification said in a statement on the same day that the danger of war is increasing on the Korean Peninsula due to the U.S., urging it to stop interfering in the internal affairs of the Korean nation any longer and demanding its forces go home.

The statement called upon all the fellow countrymen to pool their efforts to deal a heavy blow at the moves to ignite a war of aggression against the DPRK and drive the U.S. forces, the root cause of war, out of this land as soon as possible.

The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification and the Kyonggi Solidarity for Progress in south Korea held a press conference on Nov. 28 denouncing the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet armed forces for staging joint military exercises targeted against the DPRK.
