New Mushroom Cultivation Technologies Developed
Pyongyang, November 29 (KCNA) -- The Mushroom Research Institute of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has developed new reasonable technologies and methods of mushroom cultivation.

The technologies of cultivating such mushrooms as Lentinus edodes and Agaricus subfunereus and the technology and method of spore culture and breeding have proved effective in some cooperative farms and mushroom producers.

The Lentinus edodes growing technology makes it possible to gather mushrooms only scores of days after spores were injected into timber waste, increasing the harvest by 30 percent.

The Chosan and Anbyon Mushroom factories, Chonnae Soy and Bean Paste Factory and many other mushroom bases have introduced the technology of spore culture and the method of stage-and-stage spore breeding suitable for different strains and seasons.

A mushroom growing technology proper to the countryside has been applied not only to farms but to houses.

The research institute has also made foodstuffs and drinks with mushrooms.
