Japan's Attempt to Get Permanent Seat at UN Flayed
Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- At a plenary meeting of the 65th UN General Assembly a delegate of Japan asserted that his country is qualified to get a permanent membership of the UNSC as it has already "apologized" for the past crimes and made "contribution" to global peace and security.

Rodong Sinmun Sunday in a signed commentary dismisses his assertion as rubbish of making a mockery of the world and reversing black and white.

Citing data to expose that Japan has left no stone unturned to hush up and palliate the past aggression crimes and evade the blame for them, far from regarding them as hideous ones and making apology and reparation for them, the commentary says:

How can such country dare to appear in the international political arena and seek a permanent seat at the UNSC.

As far as Japan's "contribution" to global peace and security is concerned, it served only to lay a way for the advance and military operation overseas of Japan's "Self-Defense Forces" on the plea of "cooperation for UN peacekeeping operation".

Japan's bid for permanent membership of the UNSC is not intended for sound development of the world community and peace but for creating international circumstance favorable for its overseas aggression by abusing the responsible post of the UN.

If Japan, overheated with ambition for overseas expansion, is allowed to get a permanent seat at the UNSC, this will undoubtedly endanger global peace and security and put the international community at unrest.

It is a daydream for Japan to seek a responsible post at the UN without settlement of its past.

Japan should squarely see the trend of the times and the desire of the peoples and honestly settle the past to win the trust of international community before attempting to get a permanent seat at the UN.
