The college is a meritorious one with a long history. It was visited by President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Suk, anti-Japanese war heroine, on several occasions.

Kim Jong Il recalled with deep emotion the undying leadership feats of the President recorded in every page of the shining history of the college.

The college which was established and made progress on the personal initiative of the President and under his meticulous guidance has grown to be a reliable center for training health personnel of the country, he said, adding that the loving care shown by the President for promoting people's health will always be remembered by them.

Looking round educational and scientific achievements displayed at the college, he acquainted himself in detail with the successes made in the educational development and medical science researches and expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the teachers and students have done a lot of work in the past.

Making the rounds of various practice rooms of the college, he learned about the education there and praised the college for having successfully built practice centers so that lectures might be closely combined with practice to teach students workable knowledge.

After going round the college, he set forth highly important tasks which would serve as guidelines for the college's education and scientific researches.

He called upon the college to steadily improve and strengthen the educational work as required by the developing reality, always bearing in mind the WPK's intention to bring the nation's overall medical science and technology to the world's level in the shortest possible period and thus to train more talented medical personnel.
