Winter Study Tours of Revolutionary and Historic Sites Start
Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) -- There started winter study tours of revolutionary battle sites and historic sites in Ryanggang Province in the DPRK.

They brought together servicepersons of the Korean People's Army, working people from all walks of life and youth and students.

They laid floral baskets and flowers before the statues of President Kim Il Sung in the revolutionary battle sites and historic sites and the mosaic depicting the three commanders of Mt. Paektu erected in the Secret Camp in Mt. Paektu before paying tribute to them.

The participants visited the Pochonbo Revolutionary Museum, the Command Post for the Pochonbo Battle at that time, the then police substation of the Japanese imperialists, the sub-county office, the Samjiyon Grand Monument, the Samjiyon Revolutionary Museum, the Paektu Museum, the Chonji Health Complex, etc.

They visited the old home of leader Kim Jong Il in the Secret Camp in Mt. Paektu where they were briefed on the fact that he was born in a simple log cabin as a son of the anti-Japanese guerrillas and grew up to be a great revolutionary and looked round the historic relics preserved with good care.

They laid flowers before the statue of Kim Jong Suk, anti-Japanese heroine, in the Sinpha Revolutionary Site before paying tribute to her. Then they went round the historic relics telling about the revolutionary career of the woman commander of Mt. Paektu and her exploits.

During their tours they had diverse political and cultural programs including a meeting to hear impressions of reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerrillas, a poem recital meeting, a question-and-answer contest and sports and amusement games.
