Autumn Land Management Well under Way
Pyongyang, November 19 (KCNA) -- The autumn campaign of land management is going on throughout the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

The capital city of Pyongyang is directing great efforts to facelifting streets, parks, pleasure grounds and residential quarters, re-facing public and apartment buildings with coating materials and improving roads.

In North Phyongan Province main roads extending several dozen kilometers have been constructed or reconstructed and the banks of the River Amnok revetted to prevent flood damage.

Haeju City, South Hwanghae Province, has renewed its appearance as required by the Songun era, and carried out an embankment project of 35,000 cubic meters along the River Sujong to protect farmland from flood.

North Hamgyong Province, which has created oil-bearing chestnut tree (Xanthoceras sorbifolia) forests covering a thousand and several hundred hectares and built tree nurseries in many areas in recent years, is taking the lead in the effort for turning the whole country into a thick woodland and greenery.

Such undertakings as tree planting, seedling cultivation, railroad reinforcement and bank revetment have made headway in South Hamgyong, North Hwanghae and other provinces.
