The book contains 26 works including speeches, conclusions and talks made by the President between January and July Juche 80 (1991).

In "New Year Address", "On Some Tasks for Developing the Economy" and other works, the President set forth the revolutionary policy for effecting a steady surge on all fronts of socialist construction and further strengthening the might of the independent national economy by dynamically conducting the three revolutions--ideological, technical and cultural--under the uplifted banner of the Juche idea as required by the developing reality.

Carried in the book are works dealing with measures for providing the people with more affluent and cultural life.

It also contains works which expound the matters arising in greatly encouraging Korean painting with a long tradition and creating popular fine art pieces and the theoretical and practical matters for valuing, properly inheriting and developing from the standpoint of Juche the national cultural heritage with long history.

In such works as "Let the Entire Nation Join Efforts in the Struggle for National Reunification" and "For a Free and Peaceful New World" Kim Il Sung clarified the WPK's principled stand for realizing the national reunification and building a free and peaceful new world and gave a perfect exposition of the matters for doing so.
